Ever since I was a child, I have harbored a love for art and the outdoor world. I was lucky to come from a family that encouraged me to follow both passions. Through a series of adventures as a child – including hiking the Appalachian Trail and a cross-country road trip full of museums and many of the country’s glorious National Parks – my enthusiasm for learning grew as I did. My love for art tipped the scales when it came time to choose a college, and I graduated from Rochester Institute of Technology with a BFA in Glass and Glass Sculpture.

After school, I joined the Corning Museum of Glass, Blow Glass at Sea Team. While traveling and blowing glass, my love of the natural world caught up with me (how could it not while sailing through Alaska, Australia, and New Zealand?) and I was recruited to join an amazing team of naturalists. We educate people about the amazing places that we travel through. Now I travel the world to share my passion for not only art, but also the environment. As an artist, I use glass to express a passion for the natural world, as well as the need to protect it. My work as a naturalist provides an endless stream of experiences and inspiration. I choose glass because of its limitless possibilities. I make art to celebrate and honor the beauty of nature and, I hope, open a dialogue about the societal change that is required to both save and savor our natural world.
